Chapter One - The routine was always the same. Kim knew it by heart - Sleep in, get up around nine in the evening, shower, grab something to eat and then head out to the hospital again. Her shift was always eleven to seven. 
For the last thirty years she had been a nurse devoting her life to care for and help heal the sick, a field in which she knew she was destined to be part of at a very early age. It was a profession that consumed her life, leaving no room for personal commitments.
The hospital floor was full these last few weeks with patients either destined for heart surgery or recuperating from recent surgery. Nursing is a field that is always in demand and Kim made it her entire life.
